Who Are We Deceiving?

WHO ARE WE DECEIVING? The world has stood the test of time And here we are breathing more life into it There may be some explanations to this Yet, we can barely look at our watches while they tick We can't wash the blood off others, and off us I tell you; we are too perfect to face judgment I am a victim; so while I ponder I ask so many questions, but who are we deceiving? I wonder There is a time to be born, and a time to die But there is no time to recover from vanity A time to pretend; a time to be valued at this world's insanity A time to let go our purposes; a time to live in scrutiny There are so many skeletons to bury; a single tear drop coupled with tragedy Jesus has given up His blood for us What more could He give up for us? We lurk, and lurk, and there is no more room fit for us We rejoice while we live But we are so shy to deny death at all Do we really understand the consequences that emerge from the little excuses we give? Roses Are Red, Violets Are Blue

The blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice The deeper the memories that love remains true I dare the hardest of all diamonds to prove its worth And lo, beauty is the dream, now I speak of her birth I sing the musician's song, to warm your heart This is the day that lives forever; a day without the night I tell you stories, where roses die, but love, not And crazy, the cheetah that battles my heart, in speed and in might Roses are red Violets are blue Readily I fret; yet there's love anew February is red The month is new I speak so much but Happy birthday to you!

Barabbas

BARABBAS I lived two thousand years ago A thief, a rebel was I My name is Barabbas And I was condemned to die On Friday morning the jailer came In the early light I could see As he dragged two thieves away he said Barabbas you can go free The crowd outside was angry And I could hear them roar Barabbas, Barabbas as the jailer unlocked my door I made my way through the city gates Out to Mt. Calvary Instead of two crosses on that hill I could see that there were three Who's hanging there upon my cross The one they built for me Who's dying there in the middle That Barabbas might be free A purple robe, a crown of thorns A face forgiving and kind Nailed to the cross on Calvary The cross that should have been mine I lived two thousand years ago A sinner friend like you My name is Barabbas But yours is Barabbas too ©Eldred Hill(Lonesome Note Music-BMI)

The Fairest Morning

THE FAIREST MORNING When the crystalline sea glows And a sudden wind flutes into my ears I put my heart into this day Yes, my thick blood meanders, and basks; The warm, mother star tells me so! My clear eyes - the open windows to this world Widen my mouth and my cheeks Because all four is alive with me Whilst the clouds - like enormous snowflakes Keep watch over me like sentinels Behold, I lock all frailties till I-do-not-know-when Like the Spring, a fresh day dawns The land lies flat; that I wonder But a grateful heart is all I have got
