We Dey Ground

 We Dey Ground

Even the slightest jokes hurt the hardest
'cause in these times, a smile is much more expensive
We're walking on ten toes, but our jaws are the hardest
Burying every battle we almost won
I know change may start with the person in the mirror
But the mirror shapeshifts and turns its back on us
How do we know our next destination?
Hell is deep down, but our brains are already hot
I lost a pesewa in my dream, and that's a nightmare; I can tell
Trotros and other public transports are more appealing than porsches
Fuel prices are inflating; I hope dinosaurs are not returning
I swear, I tossed a coin into the sky and I still can't find it
Don't try to advise yourselves; you are too young for responsibilities, I tell you
We dey ground like seeds, but what do we yield? Nothing
We speak of progress, masa it died with Nkrumah
Loud mouths, so we're deaf already
